Betty Louise Fickes

Betty Louise Fickes, 66, of New Philadelphia died on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at her home.

Born on May 12, 1951 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Margaret A. (Grove) Kendle. On July 20, 1973 she married James “Jim” Fickes, who preceded her in death on March 2, 2005. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Charlie, Louis, and Paul Kendle.

She was a babysitter for many years. She also worked at Hill’s and Ames Department Stores and was a member of Flame of the Pentecost Church in Dover.

She leaves behind her children; Jason Fickes of New Philadelphia, Ryan Fickes of Dover, Lori Fickes of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, her sister; Eleanor “Nick” McNutt of Mineral City; sister-in-law, Dolly Kendle of Dover; along with several nieces and nephews.

In honoring Betty’s wishes, cremation will take place through the care of Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Kevin Anslow officiating. Friends can call one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. A meal will be served at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center immediately following the service.
