About Us
At Toland-Herzig, we are equally comfortable planning services to be conducted within our own facilities or working in cooperation with area churches and other venues. We will be glad to assist and make calling hour and service suggestions based on our considerable experience. But our commitment is to you and your personal preferences. While some might discourage certain funeral customs and traditions, dismissing them as old fashioned or as needless ritual, we encourage you to plan arrangements that meet your specific needs and wishes. We believe tradition, after all, is to be respected.
We are proud to own and operate the area's newest human, and separate pet crematories. Our human crematory now operates as one of the first crematories in the United States with Cremation Safeguard:
Cremation Safeguard is a system that helps identify and track a deceased individual. It is comprised of a web based system which helps collect, transfer, and store identification information of the deceased for cremation. Cremation Safeguard also uses a fingerprint scanner and a patented locking urn. The fingerprint scanner allows the funeral home and crematory to confirm the deceased’s identity throughout the cremation process. The identification lock allows the funeral home and crematory to continue to confirm the deceased’s identity even after the inurnment.
Our Dover location has also become quite a tourist attraction with the growth of our Famous Endings Museum, the world's largest privately owned collection of funeral memorabilia from services of the famous.
We had the honor of being Ohio's 2010 enshrinee into the National Funeral Directors Association's Hall of Excellence.
